Established in 2005 by artist Wendy Trusler, Re-Works is a Peterborough-based studio devoted to creating furniture and handmade works for everyday living. A graduate of the Ontario College of Art, Trusler's design practice traces a similar orbit to her artistic impulses as she explores the potential inherent within found materials and reclaimed objects. She works both independently and in collaboration with others to craft her work. Encompassing ideas of ecology, rejuvenation and repurposing, she integrates a wide variety of materials in creating design pieces that have the feel of contemporary antiques; pieces that are rustic, warm and refined.
